Breckenridge

Some good friends allowed us to take over their cabin for a weekend in order to enjoy some MUCH needed R&R.  Can't say we did much resting or relaxing, but we sure had a good time!  The International Snow Sculpture Competition was going on while we were in Breckenridge.  Teams from all over the world have one week to sculpt a big block of snow into something incredible.  They don't disappoint.

Art

We've been very fortunate to take advantage of my sister's wonderful talents in art and instruction, combine them with the technology of Skype, and close the 3000 mile gap between here and Alaska once a week for an art class.  The girls LOVE getting that time with their aunt!  This year they are learning about a variety of early American to modern American artists.  Two of these were Winslow Homer and Edward Hopper, known for their watercolors.  Below are the projects Sonia had the girls complete.  Carrie copied Homer's "Casting".  The other girls copied Hopper's "The Long Leg".
